Tips for reporting scams

When reporting, have ready:

  • The exact message or email content
  • Sender's email address or phone number
  • Links or URLs mentioned (do not click them)
  • Screenshots of the suspicious content
  • Date and time you received it
  • Any personal information you may have shared

If you've been scammed:

  • Report to local authorities immediately
  • Contact your bank or financial institution
  • Change passwords for affected accounts
  • Monitor your credit report for fraud
  • Consider placing a fraud alert with credit bureaus
